Grandma and Grandpa Kennedy came for a visit and we had so much fun with them. They did a lot of sightseeing on their own but we went for a couple of drives with them. This is the lookout of Tahoe Lake. So beautiful!

Then on Sunday afternoon we took a drive over to Donner Pass....you know the story about the Donner family right? Well this is the pass they got stuck in and eventually died at. Imagine it covered in like 20 or 30 feet of snow. Had they only known how close they were to the Reno valley.
It's one of my favorite places up here, the rocks on the mountains are so beautiful
This huge statue is a memorial for the people that lost their lives here that winter.
and last but not least, Violet's new smile. We had so much fun with Russell's parents. Some of our festivities included: sitting on the front deck for dinner, playing cards or just enjoying the weather, eating mom's delicious buckwheat pancakes, going out to eat, playing games at night, eating way too many sweets, having some good laughs and just feeling like we were at home. We can't wait to have them come back!
