America's Birthday

Ahh the 4th of July, America's Birthday. It's one of the best holidays of the year. No presents, no day long decorating of the house, no lines or crowds...just good food, friends, parades, warm weather and sunshine. And our American pride. It was our 2nd year away from home and also the 2nd year we didn't see fireworks but it was still a great day. We started off with the parade from our ward and then we went to our old neighborhood parade. The kids thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread.

This was the truck and trailer our kids got to ride on last year from our old neighborhood. This year they rode bikes.

The Burton kids from our old ward. We will miss them!

After the parade we enjoyed a delicious barbecue with our friends the Farnsworth's and the kids had a blast on our $5.00 slip n' slide.

We've been enjoying some seriously nice weather up here and I can't even pretend that I'm preparing myself for the heat of az. Being back with our family and friends will be worth the heat!
